This year, Rolex replica watches focused mainly on the refreshed version of one of the most recognizable chronographs in the world - the Daytona. The watch will be available with a black or white dial and a ceramic bezel, probably to the delight of the whole group of future owners.
As always, the eyes of all Baselworld visitors initially focus on the most popular brands, i.e. Omega, TAG Heuer, Patek and Rolex. The last of these companies decided to modify the Cosmograph Daytona model in 2016 - although the word modify may be too much. People who follow the actions of Rolex know that each subsequent edition of the timepiece is only cosmetic, often even imperceptible changes. It is no different this time - despite this, "Rolexomaniacs" will probably howl with delight and line up in long queues for the watch. The steel Daytona (in various variants) reigned in most of the predictions regarding the novelties from the fair in Basel.
The main novelty is a bezel made of a single block of ceramic - patented by Rolex some time ago under the name Cerachrom - a bezel that replaced the steel ring used until now. The Swiss guarantee that the material used will retain its intense color even when exposed to UV rays, and is also characterized by exceptionally high scratch resistance. The production process of this element is quite complicated and, in short, it consists in engraving the scale of the tachymeter, and then covering it - in the PVD process - with a layer of platinum. The change also applies to the way the numbers are applied: in the older version of the watch, they are placed horizontally, and in the new one, they "surround" the dial. It is such small details, invisible at first glance, that make it possible to distinguish individual editions.
Although the new Daytona is powered by the already known 4130 movement, this time it has undergone rigorous tests described by us HERE, and thus the daily deviations are in the range of -2 / +2 seconds, and the inscription Superlative Chronometer Certified appeared on the dial. The movement is a proven construction with a column wheel chronograph and a vertical clutch, operated by two screwed buttons. Time measurements can be read on the dial, e.g. of 2 counters - 30-minute and 12-hour. The dial was created in the tri-compax system, and the complement of the two totalizers is visible at 6 small second.
There will be two color options for the "new" steel Daytona. One with a white dial and black shield rims and the other with a black dial and silver rims. In both cases, applied white gold indices were used, which - like the central hands - were filled with a luminous substance Chromalight.
